AT on Stage: An Alexander Technique Workshop for Performers

AT on Stage is a lab for performers to do what they do with individual, hands-on guidance in the Alexander Technique with Laura. This is your chance to integrate the transformative power of AT directly into your practice, bringing your whole self to all you do. Replace tension and anxiety with creativity, spontaneity, and joy.

Whether you’re performing a polished piece or exploring a work in progress, you’ll receive personalized guidance from Laura on AT in action. Come dance, sing, act, improvise, move, explore any passion or curiosity in a welcoming environment with a teacher who understands performers.

Laura will be leading an experiential workshop on the Alexander Technique as a part of the LA Conservatory Weekend Intensive for SAG-AFTRA. The Alexander Technique workshop will be held on Sunday, August 3rd, from 3:15-4:45 pm. I will have more hours available for teaching starting 5/22. I will be away from 6/10-6/25, but will otherwise be around and teaching throughout the summer.

The 2025 Spring semester begins 2/3 and Laura is teaching a group Intro to Alexander Technique class and offering private Alexander coaching to advanced students. It’s going to be a great semester!

Laura will be assistant faculty at the Alexander Technique Center of Albuquerque January 19-31, 2025. If you would like to work with Laura over Facetime during that period, please contact her to discuss that option.

Laura will be giving an introductory class on AT for Actors for the SAG-AFTRA LA Conservatory Intensive on 9/28 from 10:45-12:15 pm. Laura previously presented at LA Conservatory intensives pre-pandemic and is happy to be returning to this enriching event.

Laura returns to Mount Saint Mary’s University to teach Alexander Technique to music performance majors for the Fall semester. Laura has been with MSMU since 2018.

LA Community College music department is hosting Laura for a presentation on the Alexander Technique for music students.

Laura returns to the Chapman University Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music for her third year teaching group classes and private lessons. Go Panthers!

I will be taking time off for two reasons this summer: 1) From July 20-27, I will be teaching at OperaWorks in Atlanta 2) I am getting married in early August!

Laura attended OperaWorks’ life-changing program in 2004.

Laura will teach an AT workshop focusing on the use of the voice at ATI-LA in Santa Monica on 2/24 from 2-4 pm. In this two-hour workshop, we will explore your experience in singing and apply the tools of the Alexander Technique to enliven our singing practice. Bring your questions, challenges, and even sections of repertoire if you like. The fee for the workshop is $70. All voice users are welcome!

Laura will be a guest artist for multiple classes at Santa Monica College, teaching singers in the voice and opera departments about Alexander Technique and improvisation for singers, 9/18-9/19 as well as later in the term.

Laura returns to the University of La Verne on September 29 for another masterclass with its voice students.

Laura returns for the Spring semester of Hussian College-In Studio, teaching Alexander Technique and voice lessons for acting, musical theater, and dance majors, as well as Alexander Technique classes and lessons at Chapman University Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music.

Laura will teach a masterclass to vocal performance majors at University of La Verne on October 14, 2022.
